  1. The U.S. Forest Service is closing 57 of its 77 research facilities, across 31 states and in advance of wildfire season.

  2. Deaths in ICE detention centers continue to rise at a record pace.

  3. The CDC issued a new charter for the federal vaccine advisory committee, in an apparent attempt to sidestep a court ruling disallowing the committee’s changes to vaccine policy.

  1. Speaking of sidestepping, a court ruled that the Pentagon’s latest changes to its press policy violated the court’s previous order, saying “The Constitution demands better. The American public demands better, too.”

  2. Democrats continue to overperform at the ballot box, and a court dismissed yet another Department of Justice lawsuit seeking access to voter records, this time in Massachusetts.

  3. A federal judge halted the administration’s effort to end temporary deportation protections for thousands of Ethiopians.
