The news can be overwhelming, but it can also inform, inspire, and focus our engagement. Let’s gird our loins and take a quick peek.

  1. After a series of firings and forced resignations, the U.S. Army lacks leadership.

  2. We’re in a trade war with Canada.

  3. After being ordered to resume visa processing for people from 75 countries, the State Department has paused visa processing for everyone.

Good News!

Encouraging developments don’t always make the headlines, But good news can provide us with hope and momentum, so let's take heart!

  1. Two dozen states with democratic leadership have filed a new lawsuit to block implementation of mail voting restrictions, while at least two states have announced they will conduct elections as usual.

  2. National Guard members who were deployed to D.C. are speaking out. (This report finding that Guard deployments fail to reduce crime is the one that got the White House all mad.)

  3. The Legal Accountability Center has filed a complaint against U.S. Attorney Jeanine Pirro with the New York and Virginia bars, for abusing her prosecutorial powers.

Even small efforts have the potential to ripple out in ways we don’t expect. Plus, doing good is good for you. Give it a try and see!
