The news can be overwhelming, but it can also inform, inspire, and focus our engagement. Let’s gird our loins and take a quick peek.

  1. Courts have ruled 75 times that the current administration has infringed on First Amendment rights.

  2. The Department of Homeland Security is spending staggering amounts to develop its technological arsenal, while ICE weaponizes social media against its critics.

  3. Staff reductions and the lack of a strategic plan have limited FEMA’s ability to respond to disasters, according to a government report.

Good News!

Encouraging developments don’t always make the headlines, But good news can provide us with hope and momentum, so let's take heart!

  1. A federal court has temporarily blocked a rule prohibiting nonpartisan groups from registering new citizens to vote at naturalization ceremonies.

  2. The Department of Justice has lost another lawsuit aimed at obtaining state voter information, this time in Colorado. 0 for 20.

  3. The public outcry over a plan to eliminate midterm polling locations in Tarrant County Texas delayed the county commissioners’ vote. Good job, public!
