  1. The president announced that U.S. forces conducted air strikes in Venezuela, capturing President Maduro and his wife for removal to the United States to face drug charges, expressing the administration’s intent to run the country and tap its oil reserves “until such time” when a transition of power takes place.

  2. The Department of Justice has demanded voters’ data across 40 states and appointed a lead attorney who was investigated for misconduct in connection with an earlier voting software conspiracy case.

  2. Federal trial judges continue to hear cases challenging ICE activities, ordering Congressional access to detention facilities, calling for more humane treatment of arrestees, and limiting warrantless arrests.

  3. Democrats and democratic socialists are being sworn into elected local government offices, following elections held this past fall, which yielded some surprising GOP losses.
